Amol...Disciple of Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, a doyen in the field of music, Amol stepped into the world of music with confidence, clarity, consistency and technical mastery that he learnt at a very tender age. Ever since his solo debut at seven, Amol has been performing concerts all over India. He has given many solo performances and also assisted his illustrious Guru at concerts in and around India. He started learning Vocal classical music under the able guidance of Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare who was well known for his ability to nurture disciples with a very strong foundation in music. Four long years in engineering college and a degree of mechanical engineering were enough to convince Amol that his chosen path should have been his first love – Indian Classical Music. The day he passed out he went to Kolkata to undergo training as per the Indian tradition of 'Guru Shishya Parampara'. He stayed with Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty; accompanied him all over and procured the knowledge by becoming a part of Guru’s family. |
"He firmly believes that there is no essential difference between raag-sangeet and popular music. Finally it’s all about music. His aim remains to communicate with the listener who finds Indian classical music remote."
